Music Together - Prelude

Avg cost per class: $ 23.67
Initial Registration Fee: $ 0
Class length: 45 minutes
Class Size: 12 maximum
Parent Expectation: Parent is highly involved and expected to participate

Overview: Same intro and exit song as well as an instrument play each week. Class is multiage (0-6). Songs are introduced from many cultures and languages and the music is not nearly as annoying (to the parents) as most music programs.

Staff/Teacher: Ana is a beautiful singer. The kids all (even mine) perk up and listen when she begins to sing. She is talented in redirecting and following the lead of children as needed.

Little Gym

Avg cost per class: $ 22.00
Initial Registration Fee: $40
Class length: 40 minutes
Class Size: ? maximum (there were alot of kids in our class - it was overwelming)
Parent Expectation: Parent is highly involved and expected to participate

Overview: I was not nearly as impressed with this Little Gym class compared to the one we tried in Dallas. It was total chaos in my opinion. I think they just didn't move through the program fast enough to keep the attention of 2 year olds.

Staff/Teacher: Teacher was energentic and followed a curriculum. She just wasn't effective in getting the kids to actively participate.

Fundamentally Music

Avg cost per class: $
Initial Registration Fee: $ 0
Class length: ? minutes
Class Size: ? maximum
Parent Expectation: Parent is involved and expected to participate with child.

Overview: This program is very similar to my experience with Kindermusik. Overall it did not hold my son's attention well. I was not overly impressed.

Staff/Teacher: The teacher was very enthusiastic and tried upbeat trying to get the kids excited.

Soccer Tots

Avg cost per class: $ 9
Initial Registration Fee: $ 0
Class length: 45+ minutes
Class Size: 3-8 kids in my experience
Parent Expectation: Parent is highly involved and expected run with the kids and encourage your own child's participation
Age when we tried class: 22-24 months

Overview: There are several activities each week starting with kicking the small soccer balls, playing with balloons, stacking cones, picking cones up with the feet, going through hoops, and jumping over noodles. My son likes this class and anticipates the activities coming up. It's a bit tiring for me though trying to get my son to continue with the activity for the allotted time. I think the class could be shortened to 30-35 minutes for this age group. The teacher allows the kids to choose stamps at the end of class and that is a big hit with all the kids while teaching them to wait their turn and to choose among several options.

Staff/Teacher: Coach Bob is really good instructing and redirecting the kids.
